A pint to measure1 min read

Have you ever been to a bar, asked for a cocktail and realised that what they served you barely contained any alcohol? Pretty irritating, isn’t it? Now, we know that, in this world, there are much bigger issues than not being served enough alcohol but that’s the kind of bad little experience that can partly ruin your evening because you feel cheated. Sadly, there is not much you can do other than ‘arguing’ with the bartender or waiter/waitress and hope he or she will put things right = add more alcohol to your cocktail.

Now, imagine the same thing happens with a pint of beer. You might think there’s nothing you can do. But that’s not true. Here comes ‘beer mat’ to the rescue!
Yes, that’s right you can now check whether your pint is too short or not using a special beer mat that shows exactly how much you’ve been cheated (if you’ve been cheated).
As it is, the scheme is for pubs located in the London Square Mile. All the pubs there were contacted by the Trading Standards agency and should comply with the rules set by the agency.
However, if they don’t and you have tried to reason with them but were not successful, you can contact the agency either by phone on 03454 04 05 06 or by email at: shortmeasurebeer@cityoflondon.gov.uk
The agency wants to make sure that pubs play the game and don’t rip customers off. What a double dose. Hic! we meant noble cause 🙂

We don’t want to sound like your parents but remember sensible drinking guys…
